Drummers of all ages, levels and styles are invited to join Thomas Lang for this exciting, multi-day music camp and educational experience. Each TLDBC camp is limited to a maximum of 25 students to offer optimal personal attention and dedicated instruction from one of the world’s top drummers. During the TLDBC, Lang leads students in three, 8-hour daily schedules of intensive, hands-on drumming for a total of 24 hours of drumming time, which is guaranteed to improve your drumming skills. Throughout the camp, students play along with Thomas on practice kits with double pedals* allowing for maximum real, hands and feet playing time.
The TLDBC also includes a VIP tour of the world-famous Drum Workshop factory!
Thomas Lang is a highly respected drummer who has toured the world as a performer and educator — earning numerous awards for his superb drumming skills, clinics and for his wildly popular educational books and DVDs, “Creative Control” and “Creative Coordination.” Lang has been named, The World’s Best Drummer by Rhythm magazine readers, “Best All Around Drummer” by DRUM! magazine, and “Best Clinician” by Modern Drummer magazine. In addition, he has won numerous other awards for his playing, signature products, best selling books and DVDs.
The Thomas Lang Drumming Boot Camp is a traveling, multi-day, intensive educational drum camp that offers a limited number of students the chance to play with and learn from Thomas Lang in an ultra intensive classroom setting. The Thomas Lang Drumming Boot Camp camp has previously been hosted in various international locations including: Los Angeles, New York, Melbourne, Warsaw, Moscow, London, Vienna, Milan, Berlin, Lahit, Finland and Brig, Switzerland among other locations. With over 125 camps hosted worldwide since 2006, the TLDBC is the first and best artist-hosted drum camp in the world.
Camp Schedule:
Friday – Sunday: Camp runs daily from 9:00 – 6:00 with a 1.5 hour lunch break.
Friday’s camp will feature a VIP tour of the Drum Workshop factory
Camp curriculum is customized to the individual group and no two camps are alike. Thomas will work with students on the first day to assess individual needs and abilities and specific requests for topics to cover.
Camp tuition covers all three days of the camp and the DW Factory tour. If you want to book a room at the Palm Garden, we can offer you special room rate which is $125.00 + tax per night which includes:

If you choose to reserve your spot at the TLDBC-LA with a nonrefundable $250.00 deposit, the balance ($500.00) can be paid by choosing the “balance due” option from the drop down menu. The balance of your camp tuition is due on November 30th or you may forfeit your space at the camp to a student on the waiting list.
THOMAS LANG DRUMMING BOOT CAMP FAQ
~What gear do I need & what is provided?
For the boot camp , you will need to bring your own sticks, throne, practice kit & double pedal. Small electronic kit set ups may also be used. If you need to rent or would like to purchase a practice kit, double pedal or throne from us, we have very affordable rates.
~How do I get from the airport to the camp?
We strongly recommend contacting ROADRUNNER SHUTTLE to reserve a ride to the camp. Taxis are expensive and Uber/Lyft typically do not pick up at LAX or Burbank Airport.
~Can I still come if I’m not a musician?
Yes! Come, explore & have fun! Hollywood & the Sunset Strip are 25 minutes away and you can be on the beach in Malibu in 20 minutes! The Camarillo Outlet Malls are just 5 minutes away — and it’s only 90 minutes to Disneyland! Many of our attendees bring friends and family and make a vacation of it!
~What skill level is required to attend?
Classes and curriculum are developed to accommodate all ranges of playing. All classes are optional and open to everyone.
~Is there an age requirement?
No. Minors will be required to provide a consent form from a legal guardian. Minors who would like to attend the camp + hotel option must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
~Are meals included?
Daily American breakfast is included in your package price.
~What if I want to stay extra days?
Once you sign up, please contact sales@palmgardenhotel.com to book your rooms and they will extend our special rate to you for any additional days you would like to stay.
~What about booking private lessons?
After signing up, you will receive a Student Information Sheet via email where you can request any camp equipment (DW ‘Go Anywhere’ kit/double pedal/throne).
~If I want to bring my spouse but they don’t want to attend classes, can I?
But of course! In order to bring a non-participant, you don’t need to pay a separate fee unless you need an extra hotel room. If you’re bringing the whole family, let us know and we can work with you to get you the best hotel rates!
~When is check in and when is check out?
Let us know when you’re arriving. Most people arrive after 4:00 PM the day before (November 8th) if they are staying in the hotel. But you need to be onsite and set up — ready to play by 8:00 AM on November 9th, so please plan accordingly. If you check out the morning of the last day of camp (Sunday, November 11th) the hotel will hold your luggage if you plan to leave after camp ends at 6:00 PM. If you need to leave the camp early to catch a flight, please let us know so we can make sure to get you your goody bag before you have to leave.
~Is there wifi at camp?
There is free wifi at the hotel.
~What about event cancellation?
MUSO Entertainment/Big Drum Bonanza reserves the right to cancel the event at any time at our discretion if deemed necessary due to a lack of participation or any other reason. If the event is canceled, all fees collected by MUSO Entertainment/Big Drum Bonanza will be reimbursed by check. MUSO Entertainment/Big Drum Bonanza is not responsible for reimbursing any travel fees, fees for accommodations not provided by MUSO Entertainment/Big Drum Bonanza, or other expenses. We recommend in any case that you purchase travel insurance.
~Can I take photos, video or audio recordings?
Yes. Although, each counselor may have their own policies regarding filming and and you will be required to sign a waiver stating all recordings, footage and/or photos will be used strictly for personal use and not commercially. Remember, YOU paid to be at the camp. Why would you give it to somebody else for free?
~What is the weather at camp?
Weather in Southern California in the summer is typically sunny and warm in the days — you may want to bring a jacket for the evenings. CLICK HERE FOR UPDATED WEATHER INFORMATION.
Friday to Sunday you will have access to 24 hours of hands-on drumming, a VIP tour of the DW Factory and additional camp activities. The only thing you have to do after signing up is get here!
All guest rooms are private rooms with free wifi, mini fridge, daily breakfast, business office, swimming pool, jacuzzi, health club and more. Conveniently situated near Freeway 101 in Oxnard, CA, this hotel is near the beaches of Ventura, Malibu, California and other Southern California attractions. The hotel is also less than an hour from Burbank/Bob Hope Airport (BUR) and Los Angeles Airport (LAX), both of which are served by major domestic and international carriers and all major rental car companies. The hotels comfortable accommodations plus full services and professional staff make this the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure. There are plenty of dining options within walking distance. Feel free to bring along a traveling companion at no additional hotel charges.
There are no camp charges for any guest who wish to casually observe limited camp activities. Individual instructors may reserve the right to limit spectators. Guests are welcome on the Drum Channel/DW Factory tour, however complementary transportation to and from the tours will be offered at priority to students.
