Four days of performances, four days of masterclasses by top drummers: the line-up of the Musikmesse Drum Camp is complete. Eight top drummers are set to demonstrate their skills daily from 11 to 14 April 2018 – on original touring equipment in a sound-proof show cabin in Hall 9.0. Visitors have the chance to see and hear the artists closer to than at any concert. After their performances, the artists will be available for autographs and to answer questions about their equipment and playing techniques. For the first time, there will also be hourly workshops with the stars of the Drum Camp and other renowned drum coaches.

Now entering its seventh year, the 2018 edition of the Hit Like A Girl international drum contest promises to build on the success and growing popularity of the program to expand the public awareness of the female drummers and grow the female drumming community. Derivati dai Blast Crash, questa nuova versione, targata 2018, mantiene la caratteristica esplosività dei Blast. Una collaborazione tra UFIP, azienda italiana produttrice di piatti musicali di Pistoia, e Iarin Munari che ha dato vita ad una linea dal sound versatile e controllato ma molto asciutto, da qui il nome Blast Extra Dry Crash.

Dopo un lungo processo di ricerca e di sperimentazione, che ha visto il contributo importante dell’artista Federico Paulovich, nasce la nuova linea di piatti “Est.1931”, un tributo all’anno di fondazione della UFIP!
La nuova linea di piatti, che apre il 2018 dell’azienda pistoiese, è caratterizzata da sonorità dry, morbide, scure, decisamente tradizionali ma, allo stesso tempo, estremamente moderne e attuali, in grado di adattarsi perfettamente ai più vari generi musicali.

Spesso al NAMM si vedono novità non sempre “innovative” perchè dettate da esigenze di marketing a giustificare fiere ed eventi, ma altrettanto spesso si trovano prodotti interessanti atti a soddisfare delle vere esigenze musicali e artistiche. In questo la Meinl Cymbasl, uno dei migliori produttori di piatti , si è sempre distinta grazie alla sua costante ricerca di collaborazioni importanti. Proprio al NAMM Show 2018 la casa tedesca ha presentato il nuovo China progettato con il batterista degli Animals As Leaders, Matt Garstka. Il piatto signature in questione si chiama Meinl Byzance Vintage Equilibrium 20″ China. Il piatto è costruito in bronzo B20 e ha otto fori. La parola ” Equilibrium” nel nome indica uno stato di equilibrio dovuto alla compensazione di forze uguali e opposte presenti nel piatto. Sembra poetico non è vero?

Up and coming metallers BEAST IN BLACK are about to perform their very first headline shows this weekend – and both of them are already sold out! But these concerts are just the beginning of a promising 2018 for the band, featuring ex-BATTLE BEAST guitarist Anton Kabanen and their new permanent drummer Atte Palokangas. On Saturday, February 17th, the band will kick off their EU run with Italian symphonic metal legends RHAPSODY, before heading to Japan and playing at several European summer festivals.
