Premier welcomes Raphael Mura (Purson) to its artist family.
Raphael and Purson have recently returned from a six-week tour of North America as special guests of the Swedish heavy metal band Ghost, following on from a stint on the Kiss Kruise IV plus a sold-out Los Angeles debut at the notorious Viper Room.
With the band set to release their new album Desire’s Magic Theatre on April 29th, Purson are currently on a 13-date UK headline tour with selected European shows to follow. Thereafter, the band head to the US for a month of touring before returning for appearances at summer festivals and trips schedules to Australia and Japan.
Having learnt to play drums on a Premier kit, Raphael has an eclectic musical taste citing influences such as legendary John Bonham of Led Zeppelin for the groove, Dave Grohl for the power and the precision, modern drummers like Greg Saunier of Deerhoof for the jazz and quirkiness, and Carla Azar of Autolux for the creativity.
On joining Premier Raphael said “I am extremely proud and excited to be part of the Premier family who have welcomed me with open arms. The first kit I ever touched when I started playing drums at 14 years old was a Premier and the warm sound the drums provided has never left me – accompanying me over the years. The best rock drummers who ever existed have all used a Premier at some stage (Mr J.Bonham, Mr K. Moon, Mr R.Star) and it’s my turn to take on the legacy!”
Raphael will be taking delivery of his own Elite Series kit in the coming weeks.
