Drum Workshop Inc. has announced the debut of their limited edition DW Collector’s Series® Pure Tasmanian Timber drumsets. Handcrafted in DW’s California Custom Shop located in Oxnard, CA, these exceptional drums feature a core of incredibly resonant Australian Blackwood with an outer layer of highly figured Blackheart Sassafras. Finished in a Quick Candy Black Burst to Natural Lacquer which is perfectly complemented by DW black nickel hardware, these distinctive drums are completed with a specialty “Limited Edition DW Pure Tasmanian Timber” badge.

Il rullante che abbiamo ricevuto dalla GEWA fa parte della serie Collector’s.
La Collector’s Series viene prodotta in diversi tipi di legni; quello in nostro possesso è un rullante in Acero prodotto con i migliori legni del Nord America selezionati a mano e viene personalizzato in qualsiasi finitura, hardware e optionals previsti dal California Custom Shop. Ogni rullante è composto da 10 strati di legno, alcuni hanno un anello di rinforzo a 6 strati e vengono costruiti con la tecnologia VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) che sta ad indicare un processo di costruzione in cui gli strati esterni ed interni del fusto vengono posizionati in senso verticale.
Un rullante molto flessibile in grado di cambiare “voce” in base al tipo di pelle utilizzata. In fase di registrazione mi ha soddisfatto di più con un’accordatura più lenta che ha permesso di far emergere quei toni bassi e caldi tipici di questo rullante.

SHEILA E. PAYS HOMAGE TO PRICE WITH NEW ULTRA-CUSTOM DW DRUMSET
Drummer/percussionist Sheila E played a one-of-a-kind DW custom kit as part of a special musical celebration honoring Prince at the BET Awards in Los Angeles. As a personal tribute to the Prince, Sheila E played a stunning gloss white drumset and matching timbales crafted in DW’s California Custom Shop and hand painted with Prince’s iconic “symbol” accented with multi-colored butterflies and finished with gold hardware.
